🍪 Bake Sales for Big Causes

Philanthropy

Ever since she was seven years old, Ishara has been baking, selling and giving. What started as a driveway cookie stand has grown into a yearly tradition of bake sales, fundraisers and awareness campaigns for organizations she believes in — raising money one cookie, one candle and one conversation at a time.

She plans the menu, letters the signs, sets up the stand and talks to every single customer about why the cause matters. Reading may be the heart of her podcast, but giving back is the heart of everything else.

Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic ⭐

At age seven, Ishara hosted a cookie shop fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Before the sale, she got to meet the director and the regional executive director of Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, who cheered her on and sent her home with props, banners and giveaways to use at her stand.

Neighbors pulled up chairs, cookies sold out, and a very small entrepreneur learned that a driveway can raise real money for kids with critical illnesses.
